What is microneedling?:
Micro-needling is a method used to treat different skin conditions. The technique involves using multiple tiny, sterile needles to puncture the skin and cause physical trauma.
This trauma prompts the dermis, a deeper layer of skin, to rebuild.

Micro-needling may help address many skin-related complaints, including: wrinkles, scarring, acne, alopecia, skin pigmentation issues, stretch marks, loose skin, such as after weight loss or liposuction.

How does Micro-needling work?

Inflammation starts minutes after the micro channels are created, increasing blood flow to the area activating fibroblast cells and stimulating them to lay down collagen and elastin fibres. Parallel, we rejuvenate the skin by encouraging the epidermis to generate fresh new cells

The fibroblast cells spread inwards towards the trauma, secreting collagen and elastin fibres

Initially, the weaker type III collagen production takes place to stabilise the wound, eventually the fibroblasts begin to secrete stronger Type I collagen for weeks and months after the trauma. They also begin the process of collagen alignment and cross linking which helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles

An important part of the inflammatory response (after trauma is applied to the skin) is the release of growth factors like cytokine. These allow signalling between cells and determine the way cells develop and react.
