What to Expect During the Plasma Pen Healing Process

by Liam CampbellMay 20,2022Plasma Pen™ Guide

Plasma Pen

The Fibroblast Plasma Pen is one of the world’s most advanced, non-invasive devices designed to lift, tighten, and revitalise dull, lifeless skin. More and more people are using this product because it’s easy and safe to use.

But any other cosmetic procedure also has a healing process. What is that healing process like? How long will it take for the area to heal? What will you have to do during the healing process to ensure its success? And in addition to physical recovery, what are the side effects of getting a cosmetic procedure, especially a Plasma Pen treatment?

Understanding the Plasma Pen Healing Process

The Plasma Pen lifts, tightens, and rejuvenates the skin by stimulating the production of collagen and the essential proteins in the dermis, which it does by converting electrical energy into electrostatic energy. The impulse channels this energy to the applicator tip.

This procedure is non-invasive but keeps the subject uncomfortable; it doesn’t require anaesthetics, but the subject will experience some swelling. This is because the procedure burns the skin, and that causes swelling to occur as a side effect.

The healing process for a Plasma Pen procedure takes about eight weeks, although most patients appear to heal within less than two weeks. The healing process involves letting the skin recover from the burn, and the scabs fall off.

What to Expect During the Plasma Pen Healing Process

The healing process of a plasma pen device can take up to a month for you to notice the effect of the treatment. However, it is most likely that the results will be seen sooner than that.

Swelling is to be expected of any procedure that involves voltages. Scabs will form when healing takes place naturally.

Some areas will be more sensitive to treatment than others, and some patients may experience discomfort. Most procedures it’s completely pain-free. It depends on the area you are getting treated in and your own pain tolerance.

How To Speed Up the Plasma Pen Healing Process

If you want the healing process to speed up, there are several things you can do to make that happen.

1. Don’t Use Makeup or Creams on the Treated Area

Don’t use any cream or makeup on the treated area for at least a week. The area needs complete, open air to heal. You absolutely can’t use any concealer or makeup on the treated area.

2. Don’t Expose the Area to the Sun

Protecting the treated area is very important during the healing process. You should avoid going out in the sun as much as possible. If you must go out in the sun, wear a hat and sunscreen and reapply sunscreen every couple of hours. The sun can be very harsh on the skin and make the healing process take far longer than it needs to.

3. Don’t Scratch or Pick at the Scabs

The scabs that form over the treated area need to fall off independently. If you try to remove them before they have time to heal, you could cause permanent damage to your skin. If a scab falls off on its own, don’t try to push it off. Let it fall off naturally.

Conclusion

You won’t need stitches if you get a Plasma Pen treatment, but it will take time to heal. You should take it easy for a week or so. That way, your skin has time to heal without too much pressure. Don’t exercise, lift heavy objects, or otherwise strain your skin for at least a week. Your skin needs time to heal after a plasma pen treatment.
