Treating acne scars: what are your options and how soon will you see results?
- Dermabrasion: this acne scar treatment uses a process where the surface of the skin is ‘sanded down’. Eventually, a smoother layer replaces the abraded skin. It takes a while for the skin to heal using dermabrasion, usually between 10 days and 3 weeks.
- Laser resurfacing: this is an approach for treating acne scars through the removal of the damaged top layer of skin by creating localized burns. It can take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour for the full process. It usually takes between 3 and 10 days for the skin to heal completely.
- Chemical peels: this method of treating acne scars uses a chemical solution to remove the top layer of skin, with the assumption that the new skin that grows to replace it will be smoother. The skin will be red for the initial few days following the treatment and then blisters form that will crust and drop off within 2 weeks. The chemical peel process will likely need to be repeated every 6 to 12 months.
- Fractional laser therapy (PlasmaPen™): This acne scar removal method treats the fibroblasts at a deeper level than laser resurfacing or dermabrasion. Because fractional laser therapy doesn’t wound the top layer of tissue, healing time is shorter. Someone who has had this type of treatment may just look a bit sunburned for a couple of days but there is no ‘healing process’ involved and results are immediate.
Of the methods explored, fibroblasting is the most immediate, has the shortest healing period, and is based on your body’s natural processes.
Can PlasmaPen™ guarantee results for acne scar removal?
PlasmaPen™ is also known as a fibroblast device. It stimulates the fibroblasts within your skin to produce more collagen. Collagen is the good stuff in our skin, giving it both structure and elasticity. In stimulating your skin to produce more collagen at a deeper level, not only do we avoid the open wound created by other acne scar treatments, there is no thinning of the skin and the process is precise and predictable. The results look natural because they are achieved through your own body’s production of collagen. It’s still you, only without the scarring caused by acne.
Will this acne scar treatment work for you?
Yes. This world-leading, pioneering treatment has undergone rigorous testing and the results are irrefutable. The PlasmaPen™ is the least disruptive method for acne scar removal and works at both the epidermal and dermal level, stimulating collagen production and leaving your skin smoother and with a lasting, improved structure.
