Below are some of PlasmaPen™’s frequently asked questions about fibroblasts and fibroblasting.

HOW MUCH DOES FIBROBLASTING COST?

The cost of fibroblast treatment is entirely dependent on your technician. All of our PlasmaPen™ approved technicians operate from their own independent salons and offer individual price points. If you want to know more information on the cost of fibroblast treatment, you should look to contact your nearest technician to learn more. Contact us to find your nearest PlasmaPen™ technician.

IS FIBROBLASTING SAFE?

Fibroblasting skin treatment is perfectly safe.

PlasmaPen™ fibroblast treatment works by creating a controlled wound using plasma gas and is entirely non-contact. The wound is immediately cauterized to minimize the risk of infection.

All technicians undergo thorough fibroblast training and are trained in our academy by Master Trainers. It is during this fibroblast training that the technicians learn about and adhere to a strict safety and hygiene policy with routine checks.

IS FIBROBLASTING PERMANENT?

In most cases yes although as a fibroblast treatment is intended to freshen, lift, and tighten the skin, it still allows for the natural ageing process to take place.

IS FIBROBLASTING PAINFUL?

No, as the process of fibroblast treatment itself is non-contact and termed as soft-surgery, the plasma gas creates a very rapid, controlled wound to the skin across the whole area to be treated. In doing this, the controlled wound feels similar to a pinprick and so a mild numbing agent is applied to alleviate this slight discomfort.

The healing process itself is again not considered to be painful, sometimes just slightly itchy or feels tight , however, the fibroblast treatment does involve minimal downtime so this discomfort does not last for long.

HOW DOES FIBROBLASTING WORK?

Fibroblasts are the most common cells of connective tissue in the body and the only ones that can make Type III collagen. This type of collagen helps to minimize fine lines, wrinkles, and micro-furrows and improves the elasticity, suppleness, and hydration of our skin.

Most fibroblasts are inactive and will not produce collagen unless they are specifically reactivated by a wound healing process or inflammatory response. Fibroblast treatment involves the art of reactivating this production process, for smoother and more lifted-looking skin.
